Reimbursements

Midwifery Care
Our practice has a contract with all health insurers. Our care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period is fully covered by the basic insurance. This is not deducted from your own risk. Some blood tests during pregnancy, however, are deducted from the own risk. The Non-Invasive Prenatal Test (NIPT) has been funded by the national budget since April 1, 2023. There are no costs for pregnant women associated with the NIPT.

Ultrasound
The term ultrasound and 20-week ultrasound are fully covered by the health insurer. The 13-week ultrasound is paid for from the national budget. Health insurance covers ultrasounds with a medical indication. For example, we schedule an early term ultrasound or a growth ultrasound on indication. A position ultrasound we offer to all our clients. A gender ultrasound or ultrasound on your own wish is not covered by the health insurance but is certainly available within our practice. The cost for a gender ultrasound (from approximately 14 weeks) or 2D ultrasound is €55.00.

Costs Not Standardly Covered (sometimes covered by supplementary insurance):

  • The own contribution for a polyclinic delivery (a delivery in the hospital by choice, without a medical indication). This can vary per hospital and per health insurer. It is advisable to check your policy to see which reimbursement applies in your case.
  • The use of laughing gas/‘’gas and air’’ during delivery for pain relief. This is possible at Bevalcentrum Zuid and Amstelland Hospital.
  • Pregnancy and/or childbirth courses.
  • Maternity care (kraamzorg) is reimbursed by basic insurance, but there is a personal contribution of approximately €5.10 per hour. The ammount of this personal contribution varies per health insurer and per policy. It is recommended to check your policy for the specific details applicable to your case
  • Consult with a lactation consultant or the rental of a breast pump. Note: The reimbursement for these additional services may vary depending on your health insurance policy, and it is recommended to check your policy for the specific details applicable to your case.
