Preparing for childbirth
After about 9 months of pregnancy, the time has come: childbirth. It’s a very special and often exciting experience. Good preparation can reduce anxiety and uncertainties, helping you find more relaxation and confidence during childbirth. Everyone prepares for childbirth in their own way, whether it is reading information, watching videos, or taking a childbirth class. It might also be helpful to express your wishes regarding childbirth by writing a birth plan.

Birth plan
As part of your preparation, you can create a birth plan. This document describes your wishes for childbirth so that all healthcare providers involved can take them into account. Around the 34th week of pregnancy, we will schedule a longer appointment to discuss your preferences for childbirth. This includes questions about the location of delivery, who you want to have present to support you during childbirth, and how you want to manage pain. Any questions, doubts, or uncertainties regarding childbirth can be discussed with us.
You can download a birth plan template here.
